The Luxor trip with Valley of the Kings from Hurghada has the Karnak temple, Hatshepsut temple and the Colossi of Memnon on the agenda, as well as the Valley of the Kings, an ancient necropolis. In the Valley of the Kings you will enter three tombs selected by your guide. Usually these are the tombs of Ramses the third, Ramses the fourth and Ramses the ninth.
What exactly is this “Valley of the Kings”? It is the place where the pharaohs (and their families) were buried. Such an ancient cemetery with tombs carved into the rock. It is worth remembering that the Ancient Egyptians paid extraordinary attention to life after death. Their tombs are usually true works of art. Walking through the corridors filled with paintings and the halls that once housed the mummies of the pharaohs is incredibly impressive.
Most of the tombs in the Valley of the Kings had been looted before archaeologists reached them. That’s why Howard Carter’s discovery of Tutankhamun’s Tomb in 1922 caused a huge stir. Despite the late discovery, this tomb was filled with treasures. There were gold beds, a throne, chests, and the famous golden mask of Tutankhamun weighing about 10 kilograms. Today, the mask is in the Egyptian Museuem in Cairo and can be admired during a trip to Cairo.
